A Personal Proxy is a program that mediates between the actual server and client and each appears as the required counterpart. While it identifies itself to the server as a client, it serves as a server to the actual client.

In this way it is possible to make certain, otherwise only to the server reserved changes regarding the traffic - such as the suppression of unwanted content, etc.
